Short trek to Huchuy Qosqo (Little Cuzco)
This is one of the most beautiful short treks in the immediate environs of Cusco, going through a steep set of switchbacks along tiny villages of llama herders, and finishing at the ruins of Huchuy Qosqo (3200 meters). The 1 ½ - 2 hour walk starts from Lamay (2700 meters) and stops momentarily at a viewpoint of the ruins. Be attentive to observe the local scenery, including birds, flowers, and spectacular snow peaks.
Bring with you water, sunglasses, hiking boots, lightweight waterproof jacket and pants, hat and a warm cap. Box lunch, guide, and tents are included.
